something like that needs a nice reduction box along with a control jsut for the brake. That way you can load it up with power and also control the jumping. A smooth crawler can be done, it will just take more control. Build a race seat controller with brake and gas pedal along with a steering wheel and your will get the control you need hehe.

My dream is a flash steam crawler, that´d be some good torque!

no air filter!!!!! your killing that nice 4stroke they are soo nice you could you do that!!!

  4. joetommany says:

@Kawisaki100 It works on something called “Blow by” which means some of the unburnt fuel and small amounts of oil slip past the piston (and/or rings) and lubricate the crank. Hope this helps.

  5. Theturbo6guy says:

se that up with some wrom gears, and a taller gear ratio, then it would be perfect

  6. hologramdon says:

    it cant crawl!

  7. kyll3r14 says:

the video of this song is funny..can you tell me the name??i cant remenber now..lol..very good video

  8. Kawisaki100 says:

so do you have to put oil in the crank case then

  9. cyberslick18 says:

    Um… where’s the crawling lol?

I just saw a nitro getting stuck on 3 inch rocks

  10. ireallydont1 says:

    that rellllllllll badddddddddd

  11. sherbutorange says:

how much can i buy an engine for like that?

  12. TrikeLovin says:

that was awsome…..It would look sick creeping through the rocks….

  13. xtremerc says:

It’s an OS Engines FS.26…maybe with some extra numbers in there.

  14. peepers56874346 says:

@xtremerc Do you know the exact name of that engine i wanna do the same with my Tmaxx.

  15. nitrorcman108 says:

its about damn time someone made a gas crawler

  16. arionbarbarion says:

very cool!! but……..lets see that thing really crawl. that was not really crawling there? i’m pretty sure that thing could not go where my axial go’s…. just sayin’ like i said it is way cool :)

  17. xtremerc says:

It’s an OS 4-stroke for cars. Similar but not for planes.

  18. msngros says:

is that an airplane engine thanks for answering!

  19. tankjr85 says:

excellent work, what’s the engine you’re using there?

I have a FS on my buggy, the sound is very realistic. If i wanted it to go fast, i would have installed a brushless set. But i prefer sound on my buggies, especially the Picco on my Hyper!

  21. daveTV says:

Yes, we addressed this issue in the magazine article. This was basically just to do it because we could. Not really because we wanted to make a crawler. I’ve been crawling for 3 years now and know nitro’s don’t make good crawlers. Not with the clutch technology we have right now in RC.

  22. notatoy1 says:

i understand 4 stroke is much better , and does have more low end tourqe . but the revs need to build up in gas engines to acheive tourqe ,were as a electric motor has instante power and does not need to build up revs , this is why so many peopel use electric for drift cars and rockcrawlers . . you just carnt beat them . but great project none the less .thanks .

I have never disposed them but when it ‘ll happen i’ll put them in the recyclable waste collection..so there is no problem..(i hope)
I used nitro (10-20% ,alcohol and castor oil) a few years ago but my throat and my nose always stinged… and it was not so good for my health and then some years ago i used 1:8 nitro buggy but now i use rc trucks like Tamiya Hilux, Axial SCX..etc.. so this is the first reason i use electric motors..:)

  24. ramanzinho says:

RC Engines run on Alcohol with a small percentage of nitro. So the pollution you speak of is minimal. FYI NiCd, NiMh and LiPos are not exactly biodegradable lol. I wonder how you dispose of your batteries? Recycle them by chance?

I have both electric, gas cars and planes and enjoy both equally.

  25. ramanzinho says:

You can use an electric fan to keep it cool. One of the heat sink fans would work. One guy even put a computer fan on an Inferno GT chassis
