where did you get the relay at?

    wow cool motor thingie.

  3. DITechSite says:

You could try something using both control circuits and a DPDT relay wired as a reversing relay. It would not work with this specific motor because of the wiring to make it stop in the same place each time.

  4. DITechSite says:

Never hooked it up to try it but I think not because of the way it is wired to make it return to a certain point.

Sorry, I looked at the motor and found no markings on it to help identify it. It is a motor that was designed as a car windshield wiper motor. All Electronics is a surplus/overstock type store so I guess when the run out they are just gone for good.

You could do something using the 2nd channel on the controller and using that to control a relay that turns on a DPDT relay wired as a reversing relay that the power to the large motor would run thru. So for instance the drive wheel circuit would flip the DPDT relay to reverse the power leads and the steering circuit would actually send power to the motor (and it would run forward or reverse depending on whether you were pushing the drive wheel controller handle. (Confusing?)

Hi…. I am making exactly the same thing as yours but im trying to figure out how to reverse the big motor with my controller (transmitter) when switch to opposite side (down/back) Im thinking of adding another relay for reverse current but not sure, could you help me out Please.

    Thanks in Advance.

I found this video a while back and saw the motor at Allelectronics (dot com) like you mentioned. However, I waited to get it and now they no longer carry this motor. Could you please tell me what motor that is as I would really like to buy one. (The stopping in the same place seems very helpful for my project.)

  9. dany07bmx says:

does it go in the reverse?

  10. mrek94 says:

Can you control the motor both ways

  11. TheDullahan says:

Is there a certain kind of motor I would need if I want to apply this to a 12v motor and want the motor to spin a different direction depending upon which direction I switch the joystick?

  12. TheDullahan says:

That’s a useful video. I actually need to learn a bit about RC relays for a project that I’m working on. it will need to be able to drive a motor back and forwards to turn two rear wheels and another RC control for steering two front wheels. it also needs a simply relay just to power a water spray mechanism. I am not certain how exactly I will do the driving/steering though.

where can you get that relay at?

    THX !
    dint know how to atatch a 12v motor to a 6 v reciver !

    Thank you for posting!

  16. DITechSite says:

The site Howstuffworks (can’t give you the actual url in a comment) has an explanation of how mechanical relays work. Just do a search on relay. There are also solid state relays with no moving parts.

  17. hobbyworks1 says:

    what is a relay switch

  18. DITechSite says:

Not using the rc motor at all. The power leads from the receiver board that originally connected to the rc car motor are connected to a 5v relay that can control up to 24v. It is just a cheap way to make a remote relay switch. RC car was $7 new and the relay was about a $1

  19. hobbyworks1 says:

so you are using this rc motor to controll the bigger motor

i mean you are using it as a switch rc switch

i mean you can controll any thing with rc car weather it has 24 volt or 3 volt
