@alexrocks3193 your motor is probably fried but no worry you can buy a new one for like 20 dollars and there easy to install

okay i need herlp i bought a traxxas stampede xl5 the other day and i went out to drive it and it worked untill bout half battery and i took inside and the motor starts smoking and burning somthing but idk what to do should i take it to a hobby store and see if they can figure out whats wrong i seen that comment that the guy has a problem with his motor burning up is this the same problem? ((((((sorry for miss spelled words)))

@Clay4legacy the first one because you have to run it on half speed for like 2 batteries to break it in
Mine keep’s burning motors up…… Does yours do the same?

I clocked mine with a GPS today with a max speed of 25.6 Mph, i probably could’ve gone faster but this was only a 9 minute run with the stock motor. The only way i can get it to do wheelies is by backing it up and flooring it….
should i get this or the redcat volcano epx?

@8thkill I have the same stampede, not waterproofed which is the little older version. Ya the stampede can do wheelies but there hhas to be a lot of traction and it depends on the type of battery you have.

I can get mine to last about 45 mins. At the 30 min mark it starts dying and loosing speed. I have the non- water proofed version. Can it do wheelies? Mine can’t

@Scooterfreak321 i have a 7 cell pack 2 of them, i got a new motor already, put in a 23 tooth pinion, aand its fast, it goes round 38 mph, on the speed gun i have, but brushe motors r weak, im switching to brushless next month, if my motor is good, i trade it in and get 60 bucks off! so that 140 bucks that im doin a trade in with traxxas!, im geared up for the winter

if you get a intelect ZAPPED 8 cell youll get 56mph. with proper gearing. the cells are mached so you get more performance

Im getting a venom 8 cell 5000mah battery for my stampede vxl in a couple of weeks.
@SiMArSiM11 i had the same problem with my rustler. i put it in backwards and tied it down with a rubberband/ bungie cord hope this helped

Great video, i have a stampede xl-5 and i need to get me a 8 cell to get more running time too. rite now it has a 7 cell 8.4 it came with , 3000 mah and i need to get more run time.
Just a word to the wise. All older traxxas models have plastic gears in the transmissions. Running a velineon you might want to upgrade to the newer steel gears or risk stripping the transmission.

@12joden these are actually the stock tires and rims on the older legacy models of the stampede these are not stock tallons these are older this stampede is 5 years old
Traxxas Part # “3670″ Just make sure if you get all 4 to get the rear and front. the rims even on the recent models are slightly different whare the axle connects. youll notice this on any stampede tires and wheels the inside of the rim youll notice the front is clode and the rear hex hum is in more.
where did you get those tires
