How to Rebuild a Traxxas Revo Differential – Slideshow

This is a slideshow to show you how to rebuild a Traxxas Revo differential step by step.

The video shows just how to rebuild the differential and not how to remove it form the truck. if you would like me to make a video on how to do that.

Just leave a comment or message me and i will try to make it ASAP.

Parts required:

  • Traxxas differential rebuild kit
  • Differential oil of your choice
  • Grease of your choice
  • Basic tools

Had to “audioswap” the audio to what you hear now due to copyright laws.

  3. eschulik says:

totally gay song!!!! good vid though

  4. 88bobo111 says:

You wont have the limited slip effect. It will help with control and handling. If you dont have a center diff, run anywhere between 30-50000 wt in the front and 10-20000 in the rear.

  5. kabe628 says:

hey what happen if you dont put silicone grease in the differential???

  6. yamabushisama says:

good clean and simple vid. nice

  7. 88bobo111 says:

wd-40 wil work, you can also buy some degreaser that will also remove it. Just let it soak and wipe it clean, you can also use a old tooth brush to get into the gears to remove the oil, and grease

  8. Lightfoot420421 says:

88bobo, what do you use to clean the diff gears and old oil off with, should i use wd-40?? what do you suggest?

Hey great vid, curious if u could post how to replace a front drive axel (broke my t-maxx 3.3) and i would assume that the other vehicles are pretty similar, I would take the risk in doing it myself but the main thing i guess is I would like to know what i would need before i get into it, incase more things need replacing or something goes wrong

Any consideration of this would be awesome, thanks and again, great vid.

All gears in the Revo are already metal or at least in the gear boxes they are. Good vid dude i replaced the gears in my front and rear diffs not too long ago this vid would have been helpful haha. But you’ve only showed the easy part. You should make another vid of how to get the gearboxes out of the front and rear of the truck. I think that part alone took me around an hour.

  31. EREV0LUTION says:

well i did not get the wheelbase extended, there was someone by the username kazuaki who had a piece of aluminum cut by a waterjet to make a longer and stronger chassis.

  32. AntoBoesi says:

@EREV0LUTION how dyou get the wheel base extended?

  33. EREV0LUTION says:

93.3 mph to be exact. about to be broken with kazuaki’s aluminum e revo with a 540 motor and extended wheelbase going 100 mph.

  36. 0012554 says:

  37. raulfr12 says:

  38. AntoBoesi says:

actualy tipe in mini revo max speed and youll see a bunch of canadians go at 130km/h with thier erevo :o and there is such thing as lipo batteries ;)

  39. caddy272 says:

    @janeybabes76
Actually with 4s lipos the fastest i have gotton my mini revo is 65. And i had it checked with an ondash radar. My dad is a cop and we used his truck to top it out. and it was right around 65 the whole time. cant run it long at that speed tho because it will go into thermal shutdown
