Did some testing with different battery setups and was not to happy with what I found using the supplied “speed” 23T pinion. I did some more testing using the 28T pinion that comes installed on it. Traxxas says you shouldn’t use that pinion because it could cause motor damage and heat issues but I did it anyway and I was very impressed. In order to hit 50mph with the nimh batteries I had to use that pinion. Then I used two 2s packs in series and I clocked 60mph!! When I ran the two 2s packs on the 23T pinion I only clocked 46mph. Just gotta watch temps and not run it with that much power to much.

the app sucks, my friends speed gun got like 57 mph, with 4s lipo,same thing from max amps 200 mah and 7.4 volt battery lipo, 2, that what he uses
you only hit 46 cuz you werent even NEAR full throttle with the 2s in series… better luck next time.

Lower the COF man. Get some street tires and lower the shocks…probably get at least 50
the reason it wont go 50mph is propbally because you didnt break in the motor yet.

yea… ur thing is wrong… get a speed gun… because it really goes 50 with 2 stock batteries.. i got one i know… the i phone isn’t working .. u need something that really catches the speed .. the phone.. ??? get a speed gun
I see no need to run this truck in 4s configuration. Gears are cheap. I have a 45t spur gear and all the way up to a 37t pinion gear. When I installed the 34t. pinion this thing still pops wheelies like crazy on 3s. I don’t know what kind of speed this truck will attain with that gearing as the stock Talons start to vibrate when the truck aproches 60mph. I now have some Jaco foam tires that I have yet to try. I wonder what kind of speed I can expect with my 37t/45t gearing.

Nope. It actually does wheelies all the time. Depends on which battery you have in it. The lipos make it wheelie a lot.

I think that too…. i tested mine Mini E-revo VXL on dual NiMh in series, while my GPS mounted on it, it did 76km/h = 48-49mph even with that extra weight onboard. And it looked like on your vid, your car on 4s was much faster than mine on dual NiMhs but i dunno for sure

Umm, you should be able to. It was a free app. Just search speedometer in the app store. I just put the phone more towards the front and raised the body mounts all the way up. Put the body right over and clip it down and that’s it. No strapping down. I started using a garmin gps now and I think it’s a little more accruate.

You know what you might be right. I will have to try it with my garman GPS. When I used the 28T pinion with the 4s setup it did 60mph using my iphone. I don’t know.
hey mahn..cool vid but i think theres something wrong with your app or something because ive seen this thing og that speed on other vids and it was going about 50-60 and sometimes even 70, all of them batts would have been quicker and have been on other vids.. maybe you should put some bearings in and do some lubing cause this lil car can go super quick and i mean super
hey i have a mini e revo and the steering has been acting up on it. what happens is that it barley turns both ways, would you know how to fix this problem thanks.
the slash is going to be a tad bit faster because the mini revo has bigger tires and is wider than the mini slash so more plastic

No the vxl 3′s are too big, dont fit the chassis. Plus they’d just rip the tires right off the rim. Lol

The velineon 3m is a mini brushless motor that only fits 1/16 models and has not enough power to run bigger vehicles, but its surely a handfull of power, and the normal velineon 3500 a rustler vxl has is much bigger, faster and powerfull
