Testing servo conversion on cheap RC car

this is a cheap (AUD) 27mhz RC car that i bought to use as a testbed for IMU development work. The stock steering was a horrible proprietry non proportional servo that i have replaced with the Hitec you can see in the video. Radio gear is the 2.4ghz eflite tx that comes with a blade cx2, as well as the blade battery, esc, and rx.

I took all the guts out of a car and put in new electronics. More Info: rctestflight.webs.com

Brushless engines are faster and more relieble then brushed engines but Brushless systems are ekspensiver than brushed since they need more advanced regulators

Speed controller Brushed with a brushless engine dosnt work
so you need a brushless engine and regulator

Brushed: the part of the motor that changes the polarity of the electromagnets (called the commutator) is made up of a brush that scrapes along the outside wall of the motor to make the connection.
Brushless: a micro computer does the work of the commutator and in so doing, decreases the friction cause by the brushes. Brushless motors, when paired with Li-po or Li-ion batteries (Lithium-Polymer/Ion) make a deadly duo.

im an rc noob so wats the difference between a brushless and a brushed motor?

    yup

  18. amorrow794 says:

is the yellow car a chevvy camero?

  19. rctestflight says:

the motor in the car was not brushless but they do have tiny brushless motors

  20. Nucleartreasure says:

You basicly took the electronics off an airplane and fitted them on the car. That is very impressive but one thing. Do they really make brushless motors in that size?

  21. hpitrophy says:

wooooooow i want to do this lol

  22. hotstarz89 says:

    haha

  23. rembran3 says:
