The assembly of Tamiya’s “Lunch Box” RC Monster Truck Kit. We built it the weekend of January 12-13, 2008. This model was originally brought out in 1987 and Tamiya did a re-release, probably to celebrate the 20 year anniversary in 2007.
This is the first RC model we have assembled. It is a joy to work with. Building it and running it is a LOT of fun. I would recommend any RC enthuiast to build a model from the kit so you get to know the engineering of it.
This knowledge is invaluable when you have to diagnose or repair or upgrade your vehicle. The large tyres give it great clearance from any small obstacles on the road and the bright yellow colour reflects our hot Caribbean Sun here in Trinidad brilliantly!

Dose It Come With A Radio/Controler

@XscXps3 No its not, it is really for people who are just entering the hobby, goes together quick and is just fun to pop wheelies with but yeah you are not going to race this thing.
@38ZZ The kit comes with an esc, all you need to buy is a radio system with one servo, make sure you get a radio, reciever, and at least one servo, most futaba systems come with 2 3003 standard servos. You also need a standard 6 cell battery with a tamiya plug end and a peak charger, get a Nimh battery of at least 3000 mah.

@iliveonjupiter They bounce around a bit and tend to break loose on dirt pretty easily, if you want a tamiya that is fast on dirt, get something with a 4wd chassis like a TA01 or DF01, if you want something for rocks or trails get a cc01, cr01, or a highlift.
Now its time to build a clod buster and if you want a real challenge, try a CR01 or a highlift.

gregwfs, do you really have to buy the controller separately? wats the difference between esc and that? im planning on buying the thing but im worried i wont get everything i need in the kit im ging to buy. if you use british currency can you recommend a good controller on the net? thx

It does not come with servo.
You have to get Radio system, Servo, Battery pack separately.
You can find 2.4 Ghz radio system from ebay seller Skywave2009 for $40 and Servo for $ 9 from ebay seller Emmomo1
i love my lunch box ive had mines since i was 16 im now 37 an wouldnt trade it for the world nice video by the way
i just have built my lunchbox but iam having problems with the toe angle adjustments i dont know if i should toe out or in or set it sentre how is yours set.
