Radar Gun Review (Track RC Plane Speed)

Review of the Bushnell Speedster (series II) Radar Gun. Watch this video in Normal Res: www.youtube.com High Res: www.youtube.com HD Res: www.youtube.com Notes: I forgot to mention in the video, but this radar gun can track speeds in Miles per hour and also Kilometers per hour. It’s very easy to use, just point and hold the trigger down for the entire fly by pass. Then let go of the trigger and it will display the fastest speed recorded during the time the trigger was pressed down. Overall rcFoamFighters gives this product a 5-Star rating based on the quality of build, ease of use, and great value. Also it must be noted that it has a great fun factor. For .99, it’s a great tool to have for any RC pilot. I’m sure this Radar Gun would be great for tracking other objects too. Get yours today and see just how fast your planes are. Cool radar gun! One thing to keep in mind — if there is wind during your speed test and you want to get a better estimate of the true air speed of the plane, measure the down-wind speed passes as well as the up-wind speed passes and then average them to help factor out the wind effect on your measurement. I used a doppler sound spectrogram & calculator (free software) of your YouTube video (audio) and got pretty good speed match with what your radar gun showed…

dammn are you serious!! well can you hook me up with a PDF of your plans? or where can i get them? i wanna preactice before i fly my PTS P-51 Mustang lol

  9. rcFoamFighters says:

Azer831, the plane is scratch built or homemade not store bought. I probably built it for about 100 dollars minus the radio transmitter..

  10. Azer831 says:

how much is the 1st airplane

x1iD Thanks. Sorry for the delay replying. Oh man, sorry to hear about your plane. At least you had 2 days of flying! Well hopefully tyou were able to salvage some of the parts. I guess it all depends on what type of plane you want and your budget. Planes to reccomend, also depends on Flying Skill and style. I alwayr reccomend building your own. There are good RTF planes too, the Park Zone Stryker is a good ready to fly plane. It’s just not as durable as some scratch built EPP planes though.

tommulry Thanks for the comment. Not sure if a cars Radar Detector would pick it up, but i assume it would if it is on the same band type. Its not as powerful as the Highway Patrol’s but for the price i think it is a good product.

  13. tommulry says:

Geez! 97 MPH! Do u think a cars radar detector would pick up the radar gun?

  14. x1iD says:

startazz, thanks for the comment! Well we haven’t broke a 100mph yet, but maybe next time. I have not taken the Novajet back out since then. I am working on a new jet with a bigger motor though. See the EPP Park Jet video for details. Thanks again.

checked my mailbox and no servos, just a bunch of bills and junk mail. guess I will just have to fly my heli and profile 3d plane this weekend. still fun but it wont scratch “the need for speed” itch i’v got right now.

  20. rcFoamFighters says:

Hey wild Hover. Bummer on the servos. I hope you got them by now. I still can’t wait to see your plane fly. Sure it will be cool. Hoping the weather holds for the weekend. I have the FF-22 and FF-23 ready for maiden flights. Hope they both live long enough for me to dial them in.

  21. rcFoamFighters says:

Thanks for the comment Buzz. Yeah, that was a pretty fun fast and low pass at 7:44
