On Oct.16, 1994 ARS Marine’s 16 foot Texas Tunnel set the 1/4 mile World Records at the National Jet Boat Associations in Bakersfield Ca. which still today is the fastest record pass ever ran. The driver was Dan Martz and the owners were John Cost, Dan Martz and Peter Selvey. The records are retired every few years. The Elapsed time was 8.11 seconds and the MPH Record was 119.85 The current NJBA record is only 8.83 seconds at 114 .24 MPH

That was very impressive! A 7.81 was really cooking! One of my best friends Donas, built Sunday Showdown. I was unaware you ran that fast! Good job!
Back in 2003 we set the NJBA 470 Comp Jet record at 7.81 et and 128 mph. The boat Rat Bastard #200 Owner/Diver Jim Burrow was a California Performance Tunnel and the only 470 Comp Jet to ever run in the 7′s. The boats best pass was a 7.78 et at 133 mph and would 1/8 mile at 3..92 et at 120 mph. At that time we had #680 Sunday Showdown, 281 Prop Duster and 704 Who Cares all running 8.0′s in their 470 Comp Jets. You guys put up some very impressive numbers for a 16′ Texas Tunnel back in 94.
Who’s that good looking guy on the right w/ white shirt?
Do you even know what a Comp jet is? In this video we were running, as you can see, over 1 second faster then any boat there. The only way we could have lost would have been to red light. Dan who was driving was instructed to simply follow the other boat out of the hole so there was no way he could red light! . This video was taken over ten years ago! Check the NJBA World record today! It is still most likely slower then we ran back then! A comp jet is limited to 470 Cu. gas and carbs only.
First time I’ve ever heard this, fastest comp boat ever imagine that!, maybe the fastest comp ever if it were dropped out of a C130 airplane 1000,000.00 feet in the air. the reation time alone sounds like he had too many Vicodine, and Valume, and drinking. What ever you claim, its a free country.
