i think the weave on the wing is too much.
Can I get some info on the adhesive being used?
Thanks for the suggestion, I agree with you on the lighting in the videos. Its from the poor lighting in my basement. We are still using a temporary set up. I have all the parts for a better video station but I still have to put it all together. Eventually we will get it up and running. But I’m not too worried about it right now, we are just a couple amature video makers and glad how they are so far with our limited time and budget.
You know, I like the tunes you guys use to back up the visuals, too. Pretty professional production. You gots to do something about the gamma of your close-up in the intro and outros, though, because you’re too dark and there is too much contrast between you and the bright backdrop. Still, pretty good piece of video work.
Oh, and I like the plane, too. Heh.
droog,
The monkey plane motor would work ok. the monkey plane is nearly the same size and weight. Its a good cheap costing motor. For plane plane in the video I am going to put a larger, stronger, higher rpm motor on it though. i will be using the Grayson Hobbies Super Mega Jet motor, I believe it is rated somewhere around 400watts with a 6×5.5 prop. The Monkey plane motor is running about 200watts with an 8×3.8 prop.
Is it advisible to use the monkey plane engine of this plane?
I can’t wait till the next vid
Yo the plane’s looking cool man. Should be a blast to see it fly. Keep up the good work.
Thanks man i look forward to the tutorial on how to carving/shaping foam and the other vids you have install for us all to watch, great job boys.
Startazz, I was going to cover that in this video, but it ended up being to long already, thats why I had to post in 2 parts. This plane is actually one I started a while back and unfortunately I didn’t film the making of the edges of the wing or carving of the fuselage. I am on vacaion now in California, but when I get back home I will video something about making the wing edges and carving/shaping foam with a hot-wire cutter and other means. Thanks for your input and comments.
Thanks startazz! Glad you found us too. I appreciate your comments and being a consistant participant on our channel. Its the support from friends liek you who keep us motivated to make more videos and always trying to make them better. Thanks again startazz and please keep your videos coming too!
Thanks KaptainC! I always injoy your videos too. Its good share, see and learn from everyone’s videos too on Youtube. It’s really good to make friends all over the world and enjoy our thoughts and ideas together. Thanks again KaptainC.
I forgot to ask how did you cut out the tapered edges on you fusilage and wings? as it would be great to see how you did that too if it isn’t to much trouble.
I’m really pleased i’ve found you boys on YouTube as i’m hoping to scratch build in the future and these vids are so damn helpfull mate, looking forward to the next one,5*
cool. always learned something new from ur vids. thanx guys for sharing.
Thanks Rokit. Actaully that is just a Basswood Spar and not carbon. A little heavier but cheaper. Cheaper is always good for the wallet. And I’m starting to think with the fiberglass weave I may not have even needed a spar, its that stiff. Cool too on the gears turning in your head. I love seeing your videos too and seeing what you come up with. Thanks again Rokit!
Paul
Wow… Very good and the fiberglase weave all looks uniform and matching on both sides. Your attention to detail is impressive. The carbon spar appears to be fairly large and durable also. You guys are always changing up with great ideas and gets the gears turning for my-self to. 5/5
Thanks dioncuda, I’m hoping this will turn into a nice flyer. Please stay tuned, hopefully in a few weeks.
garyshoaf, I added links in the sidebar to EPP retailers rcskyflyer and rcfoam. These are the two places i have gotten EPP from. As for the weave, you can it at Home Depot, look in the roofing repair area.
Where do you purchase the EPP and fiberglase weave? How much is the EPP per sheet?
Very cool, looking forward to the first flight.
slacker3442 thanks for the comment. Yes, people have been using his method on wings for a while. Thats how we learned it. It makes it so much stronger. Well I would love to see any planes you come up with. Thanks!
great video. i’ve been trying to find a good way to strengthen the wings, and this looks like a great idea!
