the first guys teeth say it all about the sport
must be hard getting the power to the concrete in such a light vehicle!
@SafffOneee FU
@GoRacingWantagh Relevance? I’m talking about why this cannot be called a sport. And if you mean what I think you mean, all that stuff you mentioned happens before the race. Once that car is set off it stays on a set course that is independent of any human input.
@SafffOneee These cars are custom built. You can’t walk into Wal-Mart and buy one. It takes a tremendous amount of engineering skill and patience to build and race one of these cars competitively.
@GoRacingWantagh A competition. A sport is defined as a competitive PHYSICAL activity, and a personal lack of appreciation for watching a car go round in circles aside, there is no real human input that affects the outcome of the race once the race has started. Even drag racing has drivers accelerating, lightly steering and braking. Not that I don’t think radio controlled cars are lame either but why anyone would prefer this to even that is beyond me.
r these nitro cars???
@GoRacingWantagh a hobby, or employment……
@nightfire2255678 so what would you call a competitive pursuit of some of the worlds top engineering minds?
ok………….stop calling it a sport.
Is everything about enigeering my friend, this is the most important thing, build the fastest car is not easy, the real contest is on the lab not on the road
the purpose of the guy with the broom is to stop the force of the car by tapping it, to slow it down.
@sailorkid94 there is a small lever at the top of the car that cuts off the fuel. The broom is used to trip the lever without damaging the car
whats the point of the guy with the broom?
My Dad was an old school racer too. He hung out with Dick McCoy, and I’m sure he knew your dad. He ran with Frymire and the Torreys, never won the Nationals but was fast enough to make them sweat.
If anyone is interested in buying some of these cars…get in touch with me through Youtube. My dad built some of the fastest tether cars in the world.
My Dad was Bill Pistoll…I raced these cars as a kid a few times and grew up watching him build and race. …Some incredible memories! He did this for most of his life until he died in 1996. Thanks for posting this video!!
tethered car racing is a lot of good fun, we race an early mccoy and a thimble drome champion from late 1940s, we actually can see the cars go round at speed, it looks great to see them go arround after 50 years, but thats old school cars, todays cars are a work of art, so so much technology today and they moved like a rocket, lots of progress thats for sure , but either way all up great pass time!!anybody got some loose spares for my Mccoy ??cheers down under
thats pretty cool….sounds like teapot on crack
That car really jumped into its upper power band from the poping to the zzzzzzzzzzzzzzooooooooooooiiinggg.
the noise is just the best
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzoooooooooiiinggg
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzoooooooooiiinggg
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzoooooooooiiinggg
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzoooooooooiiinggg
Looks like fast fun. I used to fly control line planes in the 60′s and 70′s. Don’t know why I stopped.
what kind of car is that?
build for fun of course… what else, I use to play with car like this when I was little…
perhaps not 200km/h
There’s a kill switch at the top of the car, they use the broom to shut it down.
