Trying to get some Tom Cruise type flybys with an Avistar .40 remote controlled airplane. I turned it into the ground. It is unrepairable, but some parts are salvageable.
This is the Nitro Planes Low-Wing Trainer 40. I am starting to get the feel for this aircraft. I was practicing right hand rolls while flying in a left hand pattern.

dude you cant even fly an avistar? damn you suck.
Whoopsy !
Very funny video, (fly like a bird)
Nice plane!!!
plane not that bad, but very bad pilot
that look’s like the old men at my flying field on saturday after noon you could get rich selling trash bags.
Ebay
))
Those “idiot cables” are great for people to learn how to fly. That’s how I learned. He’s just got disoriented.
I think he lost direction of the plane and got disorientated.
Well i hope you learned your lesson, fly higher or put rudder into your turns!
Really? You have no videos to back up your claim. That’s about as retarded as one can get. What was it like to ride the short bus to school?
Speaking of douches, I looked for some of your vids. Surprise surprise. There are none. How do we (other users) know you know what the hell you’re talking about?
Later loser.
Pilots that fly close to the ground usually buy more planes! LOL.
Great Video, thanks for posting! I enjoyed it! 5*
This is what keeps Tower Hobbies in business!
that was a stupid mistake!
You have to be really retarded on the sticks to crash an avistar. Thats one of the easiest to fly RC planes ever made. Ive had one for like 2 years and put 100′s of flights on it with out putting a scratch on it.
i would of had that in the air in 2 days, from the vid, the wing split in the middle, EASY, and the controls surfaces looked ok, it could be fixed but it wouldn’t look the same.
poor avistar, iv had mine for 8 years and it still flys like a champ!!
dont fly that low.. get altitude… that is very important
Unrepairable my ass.
You can fix that for less than $10 in glue and balsa in a day.
That could be fixxed,,,,,
next time fly way higher
I have the same plane.. It is easy to fly but i crashed twice in a soccer goal and in a tree.. All u have to do is get the tail part number and wing number and just order the parts on tower hobbies.. Its will a little over $100 but its worth it if u lover flying.
heh which is why i’m going to stick to foamy electrics for now
Hi gramcrocker.
It is a semi-symmetrical air foil. The top is air foiled and the bottom is flat.
It floats very well!
Thanks!
What kind of airfoil is the wing – symetrical or flat ? Looks flat to me.
Hi rcflyer 20.
I have had mine for quite a few years now. Still holding together well. I even tried a 4-stroke .61 in it, but didn’t like it so I put the .46 2-stroke back in.
I have recently re-built the .46 AX engine because of a scratch on the piston and sleeve.
But now she runs like new and seems faster than before.
This plane is fun!

well ive almost had for a year now nd the still flying great!
Hi heribert37.
That landing gear is from another model that is no longer. The original gear that came with this plane was too soft and kept bending backwards.
With this new wide gear, I can turn on a dime. You will see that on my landings, I can turn in a complete circle even with a bit of speed.
Take Care!

i like the landing gear…seems the plane moves very good with them on the ground
cheeers
true.. true. but once this thing flys it is awsome
Ya boys this was the weirdest arf I have ever bought no servo trays I had to make my own!
also the rudder stab grain was running in the wrong direction so if you even put it on its top gently it snaped but I guess ya get what ya pay for I shouldn`t complain for the price ya can smoke`em all day long
Hi Armygator43.
Yeah, they are for holding the aileron servo into the wing. I thought that there were 3 pieces though? The 2 sides and then the top.
Good Luck!
-Lance
Hey Lance…I finally figured out what those two little pieces of wood were for. HaHa… They fit in the wing hole to help hold the servo mount……Duh!
Thanks!
I’m finally getting comfortable with this plane.

Nice moves!
Good one! Gotta love those little prairie dogs!
