2010 March Meet drag racing at Auto Club Famoso race track. The view is from the new Quarter Mile Club area that puts you right up to the track.This was our first time attending this event and now we are hooked. The sun popped out,the track warmed up and the cars were running great.

Does anyone know what these guys use for transmissions? They dont sound like they use the centrifugal clutches like current top fuel cars use. Or maybe its cause they dont use a lock up clutch? Almost sounds like they run 2 or 3 speed lencos

i remember onte time i was watchin a race at road atlanta and this guys clutch, driveshaft and motor split from each other. That guy has my respect from jumpin out of a car that was, by that time, movin at about 170mph. it looked like a carbomb

ha, no shit. A friend of mine as a Alcohol Pro-mod corvette. One race his driveshaft broke and just about split the car in half.
those nitro funnycar guys are fearless. there crotch is sitting above a driveshaft… you had better have kids before you start your career.
