Homemade petrol rc car build Part 3.1

Got all the chassis main frame done and made the front wheel holders.

Im going to do the building of the new chassis as one part so i dont have a million parts. Everything is tacked together now. Just need to weld it together for real.

  3. 5cylcoupe says:

before you weld make your joints 45 degrees so the weld is flush. Itll look better trust me

  4. brendonv101 says:

For now im not gonna make one but i will later probs out of rod. Then cover in like cardboard or sheet metal. Dont wanna add to much weight.

  5. brendonv101 says:

    Yep 30kg.

  6. Quentonwall says:

lol and whack it with a hammer

your going to need some high torque servos for the steering… looks good … hopefully you finish it .

  8. pivotboy63 says:

cant wait to see it when its done

  9. brendonv101 says:

Yer im gonna have to weld on another plate on the bottom coz it only has like make 35 degrees steering.

Hey Firstly I will be watching all of your videos and i love the project that your on at the moment, my question is what are you going to do for the body cover as in like a monster truck cover?

  11. quickfernando69 says:

you’ve gotta make the front wheels wider out because u gotta make room for steering

  12. zack23903 says:

your never goin gto have it running

  13. jshooter97 says:

can you make a vid on what type of welder you use

  14. Luka464 says:

@brendonv101 Put the rubber under the exhaust. I go to school for a mechanic! Sorry, I can not use long words because I do not know to write English to explain why you should put rubber under the exhaust …

  15. brendonv101 says:

@Luka464 Ur thinking of cars. That doesnt apply here. You should NEVER put rubber under an engine like this. Rubber will make it worse and give me the problem i had before with the chain coming off. If this thing had a drive shaft then yes i could put it on rubber mounts but its chain drive. I want the engine as dead straight as i can, i dont want it moving even a millimetre. The only reason cars can have them is they hav a drive shaft with a uni joint so it doesnt matter if they move.

  16. Luka464 says:

@brendonv101 put rubber under the exhaust …

  17. Luka464 says:

    @brendonv101 ставиш гуму испод ауспуха…..

  18. brendonv101 says:

@Luka464 And??? So what if it vibrates. If u put rubber under the engine it allows it to move and then throws the chain off. A hard mounted engine will also rev higher. No go kart, motorbike or anything apart from a car has rubber mounting blocks.

  19. Luka464 says:

engine is not allowed to touch the chassis. because it will vibrate. My advice is to put thermo rubber under the exhaust!

ok how bout grinding and painting after welding…

nice work mate looking forward to seeing this in action! just wondering if the wheel will get too hot from the exhaust?

  22. geoff390 says:

@brendonv101 Yea thats what i mean.

  23. brendonv101 says:

@geoff390 U mean theres hardly any friction between the wheels and the ground? hehe. Yer it might not turn when stationary (either does a car or my go kart) but once its going it turns with ease.

  24. brendonv101 says:

@nrlfan07 Well its only tacked atm so no real point. Once i weld it all up tonight ill film it. Got a 2.5kg pack of sticks about 200 sticks or so, so it should last me about a year haha. Should be able to weld up everything tonight, if not theres always wednesday (got work tuesday). Need to get a wheel during the week then its all good to go.

  25. geoff390 says:

Doesnt really matter about the weight on the front. It could have 20kgs but it it was on ice it would still turn the wheels. Theres a shitload of friction between the wheels and the ground.

  26. nrlfan07 says:

hey you should show some welding on the next videos make it more enjoyable

  27. imback218 says:

nice work so far! cant wait to see it being driven when its finished, dont rush it tho, there’s always tomorrow…..Or is there? O_o
