Check out Squirrels forum! forums.thetoyz.com This video is on how to select fuel and glow plugs prior to break in. Information that this contains his how to troubleshoot and break in the kit based off of the glow plug, how much oil is good in fuel, and what nitro percent is good for the fuel. This is a ten video rc nitro break in series. The series is designed on how to guide the novice to experienced racing pro or basher on how to break in a nitro rc properly. I will teach the traxxas, new school, and my own method which is a combination of the other two. I will show the user how to prime a nitro rc engine, start the engine using a bump start box, ex starter, roto start, pull start and tiger drive devices. Then, after break in, I will go over nitro engine tuning theory and then show the tuning actally done. Nice video !
Tip : don’t glue the black tailholder in the tail itself on 1.05 its got to move up and down just glue the 2 tailpeaces in the fuselage.
Oh yeah the tape thing had mine to.. i just retaped it.

great video review. is there any aftermarket conversion for the landing gear to retract?

  7. LIPOPILOT says:

@HobbykingLive Thats cool Im sure it will help alot of American customers :)

  8. HobbykingLive says:

Cool LIPOPILOT! I will start using English dimensions more often in future videos.

  9. HobbykingLive says:

Thanks startazz! I was thinking the same thing but I don’t think there is anything wrong with the motor as it seems to run smoothly. Not quite sure why it sounded like that in the video. I thought it was just the sound of a low rpm big 3 blade prop. I’m used to the high pitch whine of a high rpm motor, lol!!

  10. NoobyRC says:

I dug up his review it is not the same plane, when I look at his and yours I see right off what is wrong with his, the wing on his is designed to far forward.

He has been around doing this for years and I think he got it free to test fly (he makes mention of test piloting in the video) So perhaps it was a prerelease plane, but it is easy to see why he so much trouble with it.

You plane has plenty of nose length and looks well balanced out of the box!

  11. HobbykingLive says:

Thanks frogs84ss! I will try to remember to do the conversions in future videos. It just seems natural to me that they should be in standard measurements as well as metric as we don’t use the meteric system as much in the USA.

  12. HobbykingLive says:

Mikey the Spitefire is one of my favorite WW2 warbirds. It is trully a classic and this one is a dream to fly. I never thought I would have this much fun flying slow, lol!!

  13. HobbykingLive says:

TheLipRipp3r this plane looks and performs awesome. I love the scale look as it passes by in the air.

  14. HobbykingLive says:

Thanks NoobyRC, I agree, you can never have enough planes. I will have a look at nightflyers review.

  15. HobbykingLive says:

    COOL fathead431! Thanks for watching!

  16. HobbykingLive says:

Lypopilot Yes there are other reviews for this plane already on YouTube. Both Paul and I have been asked by Hobbyking to do reviews of all of the products they offer. One of the main reasons why is so we can also post the videos to the Hobbyking website under each product. This allows the customers to see what the products are like before purchasing them.

  17. LIPOPILOT says:

  18. startazz says:

  19. startazz says:

@LIPOPILOT Nice one mate as people need to know what this bloke is up to.

  20. frogs84ss says:

  25. NoobyRC says:

you can never have enough airplanes!

I am wondering have you seen the nitro planes spitfire (nightflyyer has one)

  26. spenatjonas says:

I bought a temp gauge today. My engine got to 146 degrees. I asked in the store how warm the engine shall be maximum and he said 120 degrees maximum. Seen on other pages when I google how warm the engine shall be and they say 95-110 degrees is the best. And you say 200 degrees is what it shall be?

  27. Squirrelod says:

@pbkid201 Tear down cleaning or high pressure air hose.

  28. Squirrelod says:

@spenatjonas no smoke through the pipe and a sizzling engine. You can get a temp gauge to look at temps.

  29. spenatjonas says:

How do I know if my engine is overheating? Is it if the bend of the ex pipe gets redhot?

  30. pbkid201 says:

how do you manage to keep your nitro rc’s so damn clean..my ofna ravager is starting to build up rust on some spots, and i try so hard every time i use it to clean it thoroughly

  31. olliegamer says:

  39. Squirrelod says:

@ARMYCOLT80 When you go to your local hobby store to buy fuel, tell them that you want a 25% surface RC nitro fuel. Byrons, Trinty, etc.

  40. ARMYCOLT80 says:

  41. Squirrelod says:

@TheHondakid98 A proper tune will yield about a gallon through. Range varies from radio to radio.

  42. TheHondakid98 says:

how often do glow plugs burn up and how far can u drive without going out of the receivers range please reply

  43. Squirrelod says:

@98Devinc It will damage the engine.

  44. 98Devinc says:

some people say that u can fuel them up lean them out and run the crap out of them to break them in……. is that true

  45. WhiTTl3MaNxX55555Xx says:

still not under standing the hole breaking it in concept

  46. Squirrelod says:

@VirtualReality13 You need to break in every RC engine.

  47. VirtualReality13 says:

Hey , i just bought a ready to run nitro race buggy and being new to nitro i am unsure if you need to break in a motor with ready to run models. I bought it off ebay brand new and i was told i won’t need to itbreak in, yet the instructions says i do????

  48. Squirrelod says:

@TAZZYBOYBOY It means that your fuel/ air mixture is rich. You have too much fuel going into your engine. You can lean the HSN to solve.

Before you tocuh, watch my tuning video series. I have some of the favorited on my channel and the rest can be viewed from there. It goes over stock needle settings and you want to do that project before you touch the needles. It also shows you what is too rich, lean, and perfect in terms of visual and audio signals,

  49. TAZZYBOYBOY says:

Hi, I just started to break in a new nitro buggy for my son , first tank off fuel ,car on blocks and seem to run well but noticed excess fuel comming out exhaust is this normal when breaking in ?.( Instructions says not to adjust settings until after break in)

  50. Squirrelod says:

    @michaelbrick85 Your local hobby store.
