Any news on that 3S test?
2s is plenty strong. 3s will be insane. of course we can never have enough power. but 2s works fine.
@HobbykingLive My motor upgrades came Saturday plus a few other goodies from HK so i shall be busy doing this upgrade at the week end and when i’ve got it all sorted i’ll post a video ok Frank
thanks for sharing and i can’t wait to see how this baby flies now.
I’m thinking this would make for an interesting full contact combat plane
I want to see how it performs with a 3s with this motor. Waiting for a update
Just bought a upgrade motor and 18A esc myself. Hope I will maiden it in a few days. Should get around 150W with 3s and 4,75×4,75 prop.
How did you change the motor? Did you have to cut the fuselage?
@HobbykingLive since the plane is small, you could catch it on landing.
wow, you really don’t need 3s; it’s quite fast and nimble. of course you can never have enough power.
boywaimea I haven’t had any issues with that happening yet. The prop I am using is more flexible than the APC props. The link to this prop is in the video information bar.
foot8sativa I didn’t have an adaptor to do a wattmeter test but it is running on the stock 6Amp esc and it does not overheat. I have not done anything to the Ailerons as they seem to work fine on mine. The cg comes out ok but you will need to move the battery all the way back in the slot under the wing. Just make it a little bigger so it will fit.
no need for 3s, there’s plenty of power. i’m worried about the propeller though. won’t it potentially break during a landing? maybe a person would have to catch it when landing. but it flies great!
wouldn’t the prop get damaged because it doesn’t fold?
Hey frank, how many amps was it drawing on the 2s? have you done anything to the Ailerons? Ive noticed on my swift they are abit sloppy , any CG problems with the new motor?
Thanks Skydive4ever! More video reviews coming!
Awesome startazz! I think you would like this motor upgrade as it seems to run cooler than the stock setup, at least on 2s. I will need to upgrade the esc for the 3s testing.
rowdyrodcumming Yeah the weather was a little crazy that day but not enough to keep us from flying! Sometimes we get these storms that move in and are gone in 15 minutes. It’s that crazy midwest weather.
Thanks TheLipRipp3r! She did pick up some speed with the motor swap. can’t wait to try it on 3s!
Cool crampynz! I hope you do get one. These planes are a blast to fly!
hi frank have you tried to put open cell foam over the microphone to kill wind sound
cool
Nice one Frank and i might just try that on one of my little mini swifts
but i did notice that the stock set up that ESC does seem to get a bit to warm for my liking so i made bigger air vents in the side near the motor plus two holes in the spinner to try and get some air flow over the motor because that gets to warm as well, but all in all well happy with my two sets of these birds
thumbs up.
Super fun. Love the lightning at 0:47 and the tunder in the background… Riders of the Storm.
fast little feller!
Nice. Makes me want to go and buy one now and just do the upgrade straight away,
