@nadiya1is1here ya THATS wrong but if the dog wouldnt like it it may have been calm, it would show that it didnt like it. although dogs dont use as many face muscles as we do, but you can still tell if a dog is happy or not

@MegaKangroo No. You have to do this about once a week if you have a show coat. If you have a puppy cut (or other short cut) you can wash them about once every 3 weeks with ordinary shampoo and conditioner for dogs.
@lovegood55 This is a very common grooming procedure for many drop coated breeds such as chinese crested powder puffs, yorkies, maltese, afghan hounds, shitzu. Yes they have straight coats but ironing takes out any gradual wave and stretching the coat gives the illusion of greater length as well

@timmysponge Yes, we do want to do things to keep the coat in top condition. Most pet owners agree that their pet has a top priority in the life and home and also want their dogs and cats kept in clean attractive condition at all times. Eliminating the cleaningand conditioning process increases the chance for medical attention to the skin, ears, eyes. Keep your pet clean for less than a price to the vet. You will both be more comfortable.

Whether you want to show or not if you want to have the coat like a show dog you must do the grooming to keep the coat. Otherwise they are very cute maintained by a groomer of your choice or shaved down as well. If you are dedicated at shampooing, conditioning and brushing daily you can maintain this coat beautifully yourself.
