My 81mph E-Revo VXL 1/16 STOCK esc and motor external BEC (2) 2s Flightmax 2200 lipos in series 34t pinion / 40t spur Hpi supernitro wheels and tires

Here’s my proven 1/16th E-Revo set up for carpet racing at Downriver R/C. Most mods are listed in the video. All these mods are proven and race worthy. I’m still working on the body for the 2009-2010 race season. Again, no one has ever raced or mounted this unique body on a mini revo yet. Can’t wait to show it off. Check back soon for my up and coming video and the unveiling of “The Mystery Machine” Hope you enjoy these mods. ~Combat Chuck

@william21247 advertise your vids elsewhere bud.
Awesome. Very Sweet.
Everyone check me out I’m about to break that speed with the mini E. My you tube is william21247 should be up no later than
9-17-2010
how to upgrade this for it to go that fast
can you link to the bec used? couldnt find it unless im blind =x
hey bro i was going with the same setup but can you link me to the BEC you used? i cant find it :/ thanks bro.
Were you get your rAdar gun
@Sportwerks408 It’s in the description
Awesome!!!What all mods?What wheels/tires?
@Those4Gamers cheapo Turnigy one from HobbyKing
What BEC DO YOU HAVE??????
are you a crackpot? that cars more like a weapon @ that speed ha
nice vid bro, super fast, im trying to get hold of the rpm arms for mine, check out my revo on my vids,
hey which BEC is this ur using….from were do i order it online????////
@supafastsupra2
first, thanks for the superfast reply!
i see. cool. thanks for the hints! i already smoked a ESC just by putting on heavy wheels without changing any gear ratio. Wish the ESC could take more Amps.
This care eats up more money than all my three Helis together.
Well, not really, but it kinda feels like….
@foxbearCH The ESC got hot as crap and I would only do 2-3 passes at a time. BEC is needed for 4s and you need to run the esc in nimh mode (no lipo cutoff)
How often could you do this before the Stock ESC is smoked?
What external BEC do you have?
My stock Motor/ESC does not except 2 Lipos in series (i too have Flightmax 2200 40C)? How dod you do this? Or is this the reason why you use the external BEC?
Thanks in advance for your answers!
@TrustworthyMtgGuy thats true. i think 1/10th is like overkill on these things but it must be fun lol
@rubinmeneps I’ve seen people using castle 1/10 systems…I’ve seen a 5700kv, and a 9000kv in the mini Revo…I guess they stay cooler, but it sure seems there is no reason for it..these things run great right out of the box with lipo power.
does castle creations make a motor that will mount to the stock mini revo motor mounts. if so pls comment back
thats really cool and all but thats just too fast for me to have fun, I’m happy with going 40 to 50.
hi what pinion gear would you recommend me to get for maximum speed with the stock spur gear?
4s on stock esc ? , can it handle that much power?
sandmanmamba says bad boy shit!!!!!
Awsome. best mini ever. TRAXXAS hit another home run.
i agree with tunknatar…. that must be like 82 mph! LOL!! nice video man keep up the work!
is there a reson you put the reciever and esc in the compartment?
is there a reson why you did the chasis flip and put the reciever and esc in the compartment….or was it just for shits and giggles?
how did you lower the cg
@cyborgmrt I’m running the stock 1/16th brushless esc with the stock 380 brushless motor. I have it geared way down. Mine’s still too fast for indoor carpet racing unless I am running on a large track +60 ft in length. I usually race at 80% throttle travel or endpoint. A 540 brushless combo would be stupid fast & would actually hurt lap times on a small track. Combat Chuck
@initialkracing Than why are you running 1/16 scale ESC? Becuz i would like to run my revo with same set up on my carpet track where i live??!…
@xXShadowRejectsXx Shadow Rejects is right. The 540 will need a proper 1/10th scale ESC.
just fyi that will burnt your esc
…Finally if there is a clicking noise or a sound of a small motor running when you try to steer your truck, then your servo is going or the servo is bad. The weakest link on the mini’s is that stock traxxas servo! The plastic gears are very fragile, and tend to strip almost immediately. Hope this helps. ~Combat Chuck
@deltaforc396 Make sure your rate is turned up all the way on your transmitter if you have that adjustment. Also make sure your pillow balls are not screwed in too tight. Once the threads go past the end of the control arms stop. If there is not enough straight there, the steering wont get full travel….
@biggunsnate Yes it is possible, however you don’t need a bigger motor unless you want to go faster than 60MPH & keep the temps down!!! A 540 adds additional weight, causing extra stress on the suspension imo. So for a racer or basher, it’s not a good idea…however, if you want some incredible speed runs in a straight line down the street, a 540 will be hard to beat. ~Combat Chuck
is it possible for you to mount a 1/10 scale motor in that e-revo? jw since thats a 1/16 scale, i was interested in buying that model e-revo
@CODYtheHITMAN Yes.
can a mini revo handle a 4s
hey i have a mini e revo and the steering has been acting up on it. what happens is that it barley turns both ways would you know how to fix this problem thanks.
Sick video. Were did you get the tires and how much????
Yeah kool man i gota say the mini e revo is alot better then the bigger e revo u can kinda do alot more with the mini.
What are the extended wheelbase RPM parts mentioned in the beginning?
why is the duct tape a requirement?
@haavdwee No probs with the gears. Gears are original. Only thing I can think is I got one of the first Mini Revo’s off the assembly line, so maybe that’s why they are still good. Zippy…8.42V fully charged. They are really fast/powerfull, but they did get a small bit puffy after a few cycles. I don’t recommend them for that reason. Later, COmbat Chuck
that’s a pretty clean set-up. I was wondering how much Volts that Flightmax battery outputs. Is it any good? Also, are your gears stock and did you suffer any problems with them? Regz Hans
why do you have to have duck tape
@stjo5555 Mine is super reliable. The weak link that everybody complains about is the servo, radio, & diff gears. You can shim the diff gears, and also keep you slipper adjusted like the manual says. ~Combat Chuck
people says that the mini -revo got full problems?is that right?cause i want one.but your’S nice
