Beginners guide to Tamiya’s TT-01 electric RC touring car chassis

Just a simple overview of Tamiya’s popular TT-01 1/10th electric RC. See the chassis layout and a few possible upgrades such as: Super Stock RZ Motor, Hobby Port LM-406FB ESC, metal ball-raced bearings, oil-filled dampers, alloy suspension arms, alloy hubs and hub hexs, alloy motor mount,…

@damanisdakila … As a general rule, you should be able to fit most 1/10 shells to 1/10 chassis’. However, there are two body widths, 190mm and 200mm and some short chassis’/shells. An example of a short chassis is Tamiya M series. The TT01 is 190mm wide. Most bodyshells will tell you the wheelbase, this and the width are the vital measurements.

HPI Racing’s electric on-road 190mm 1/10 bodyshells go straight on a TT-01 etc. (after making new mounting holes.)

hey man can i fit any body from hpi for 1/10 scale on any 1/10 scale rc car

    @carmodif … HPI Racing :-)

  9. Jimmywatches says:

@djspeed85 … wheel decals come from a HPI Racing body kit (AE86)

  10. Jimmywatches says:

@meamjustme … I guess it has some weak spots when you start putting serious power into it. I’ve never seen anything other than plastic spur gears. I wonder if you could get some CNC machined? Junfac on ebay perhaps.

OMG, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!

VERY VERY HELPFUL. APPRECIATE YOUR TIME AND EFFORT!

    HANSI.

  12. meamjustme says:

Any idea wich spur gears are the most durable? The tamiya ones get stripped way to fast with a brushless system :S

  13. driftingdonuts says:

@Microice109 a 4000 mah lipo will run longer than a 4000 mah nimh because the lipo has less internal resistance. notice how a nimh is warm after running it hard? a lipo will not be because the internal resistance is less, thus granting a longer runtime.

Im thinking about getting a tt-01D, or a yokomo drift chassis, should i spend the extra cash on the yokomo?

  21. Jimmywatches says:

@supersanchez1991 … I think the larger bearings are for the differential gear to sit on – two on each diff = 4 :-)

  22. Jimmywatches says:

@Microice109 … HPI Racing bodyshells are cheaper than Tamiya and ebay is always a good place to look.
‘mAh’ is milli-Amp-hours, so a 4000mAh LiPo should run same time as a NiMH. However, NiMH batteries still suffer a little from memory effect, and I believe that LiPo batteries have a more constant current output (less fade).

i have the tt01 and i bought the ball bearings to replace the stock ones. but in the package there are 16 ball bearings and i was checking the PART LIST that came with the tt01 and i found the 12 (5×12) plastic bearings that i need to replace, so i have 4 ball bearings (8×12) left from the package that i bought, but in the list part i only see two, where the two ball bearings left go? please some one help me

  24. Microice109 says:

where can i get body shells ?
    cheap :D
And does a 4000 mah lipo runs more than 4000 mah NIMH….why?

  25. supersanchez1991 says:

what is a good fast motor to make this cars go faster?

  33. madscreations says:

It turned out it was the timing of the motor that wasnt right… Now its fixxed and the motor runs really smooth

  34. bluebass9 says:
